German flagship carrier Lufthansa was established in 1955, and its name is a combination of two words, namely ‘Luft’ the German word for air and ‘hansa’, the Latin word for guild. While its head-quarters are located in Cologne, Frankfurt and Munich are its two main hubs while Dusseldorf serves as a base for its local operations named Germanwings.
Passengers opting for Lufthansa can choose between First, Business, Premium Economy and Economy wherein each comes with its share of amenities. Its frequent flyer programme is named as Miles & More and it is affiliated to lounges namely First Class, Senator and Business Lounges. First Class tickets are also inclusive of a bed and an aisle seat while meals are provided on demand basis. Passengers travelling by this class also have dedicated check-in counters lounges and terminals in most airports around the world. Business and Premium Economy Classes feature seat-back entertainment screens while in the Economy Class there is provision of AVOD screen.

Having been founded in 1930 and commenced operations in 1934, it operates via nine different hubs all of which are located within USA. While its head-quarters are located at Fort Worth in Texas, Tulsa International Airport serves as its maintenance base and it caters to 273 destinations, being the sole American operator to fly to Bolivia, Uruguay and Paraguay in South America and Finland in Europe.
Cabins in American Airlines aircrafts is segregated into Economy, Business and First Class although there is an additional option of Flagship Suite too. Flights in the domestic circuit often feature only the standard three classes, the additional feature is reserved for international flights apart from the three. Another difference between domestic and international flights is the provision of snacks and beverages. While these are made available through the buy-on-board programme on domestic flights, on international flights they are included in the price of the ticket and hence are offered free of charge. Its Frequent Flyer programme is referred to as AAdvantage, it is a member of Oneworld Alliance and its airport lounge is referred to as Admirals Club.
