Flat Shoes vs Heels

A long-standing debate in the fashion industry, the tiff between flat shoes and heels is as pertinent amongst the millennial generation as it was amongst baby boomers. Instead of falling into the whirlpool, you can save yourself the dilemma by comparing the pros and cons of both and then making up your mind as to what suits your personality the best.

Alright, so I know you love shoes. A lot. I know I do. And the differences between flats and heels are clear, but the debate, ladies, is a tough one.

Heels

If you are conscious about your height or the lack of it as also your style quotient, then high heels are your best friends. Wearing heeled footwear will not only make you appear 4-5 inches higher than what is normal for you but highlight the beautiful curves of your feet like nothing else can. Walking around in heels sure requires a good body posture but it also adds to the elegance of your clothes, irrespective of its length or color. However, you need to be careful while walking around in heels since it is easy to lose balance and running in them could turn out to be a complete disaster. Back pain is another side-effect of high heels which you would need to guard against.

Flats

Comparatively, flats are all-purpose, meaning you can walk around in them throughout the day on a variety of surfaces and still feel comfortable. Risk of getting a back pain or sore ankles is greatly reduced in case of flats, thus rendering them ideal for people who are particular about their health. On being matched with care, flats can complement any outfit and add a dash of elegance without making an overstatement.

So which would you choose, flat shoes vs heel shoes? Tell us below. What do you think some advantages and disadvantages of both are?

When I wear heels I feel good for the first 10 minutes. Then my lower back starts to hurt followed by my toes. I find flat shoes much more practical and since I am an active person who likes to walk fast, flat shoes are for me!

Flat heels is easy to use and more comfortable especially when you are walking in rocky and sandy areas, no back pains to and will not cramps your legs while high heels can be use rarely, if there are some occasions.

There would be some cases where a heel would look nicer with the clothes your wearing, but overall flat shoes seems to be the better option. All of us would agree the higher the heel the more pain we feel. If I choose a heel I shoes something with a smaller heel. Advantages of wearing heels – when your boyfriend is tall you don’t look like Laurel and Hardy. Disadvantage of heels pain, pain and some more pain. I would rather feel comfortable in flats than uncomfortable for fashion!

More often than not, men can’t pull off high heels, so if you’re a lady, you get to take advantage of this option, so why not? Not only do high heels look glamorous under just about anything, be it a short skirt, a long dress, a pair of skinny jeans or even a swimsuit, they have other advantages, some of which I shall proceed to list out:

    – You’ll get practice in maintaining your posture and it’s good exercise for your calves, meaning high heels help you look better in more ways than one
    – If you’ve mastered the art of sprinting in high heels, rest assured you can handle pretty much anything. If you haven’t mastered the art of walking in high heels, then a slow catwalk comes naturally.
    – In times of distress, such as when being chased by a wild animal, break off your heels for easier mobility and use the broken-off heels as projectile
    – Feeling taller equals more confidence.
-There are gel cushions available to lessen the pain of wearing high heels, which is easy to get used to over time. This doesn’t stop you from using painful feet as an excuse to get out of running chores. On a date, this also gives you the opportunity to up the romance by getting the man to carry you across puddles and what not
    – They’re a pleasure to shop for
