Compare Facebook vs Google

Google

or

Facebook

First of all, it must be said that comparing Google and Facebook is an incredibly difficult task as they are two very different companies offering largely different products and services.

Having said this, they are clearly two giants of the online world and a comparison is not only interesting but necessary.

Who is bigger at the moment?

Google remains the undisputed leader online.

It commands up to 50% of online advertising. The simplicity and instant recognition of the brand together with the best search engine, a multitude of cutting edge projects and now Android, the hastily growing mobile operating system also in their control, they remain absolutely dominant.

It is expected that Google will get about 40 billion in revenue this year.

What about Facebook?

Facebook, on the other hand has more than 800 million users and is approaching ever nearer to Google. An advantage it has is that users spend more time on average on Facebook pages compared to Google.

If Facebook can utilise its popularity and start broadening their network reach and earnings potential without turning off users, they have a chance of surpassing Google. It can be tricky though as Facebook is currently only a “social network” but the potential is there to utilize the facetime it currently has and expand.

Google is well placed for short to medium term domination but has a powerful challenger in Facebook.

I automatically assume that the future come of the relation between those big companies and new startups, at this time I’ll vote for Google knowing part of what they pretend to do with magic leap.

They both have the similar kind of experienced engineers with great projects on both sides but I’m on the side of google research.

Definitely Google. It has become a custom in our house to say: “Just Google It”, and I have a feeling it’s not only in our household. Also I use Google on a daily basis. I stopped using Facebook 3 years ago. The thing with Facebook it get’s old.. The older you get the less you want to be on Facebook, you actually acknowledge that there is a life outside of social websites and you don’t have time to waste it. Go Google!

Though I spend more time in FB, but I think that Google is more useful for me. So Google is more important to me.

Google hands down is the winner in this battle of the websites. When you want to find relevant information, where do you go first? Google! When you want to see the latest update of your ex-best friend? Facebook. It doesn’t seem like a very fair competition here. Google reaches more users and directs consumers to the correct websites that are tailored for them. Not only that, but it offers advertisements that are able to reach potential customers. For instance, if you search for sound equipment on Google, you are going to see numerous ads pop up around your screen as you’re browsing that are related to your searches. However, most of the time Facebook is seen as a more social outlet, which isn’t a place most people go to in order to purchase products. Overall, Google is the reliable source for information, advertising, and much more and Facebook is a place for people to post their food pics.

The current winner is google. But if in future Facebook expands the features it gives it could have more information in it as even the personal information is fed into Facebook. Sure, Facebook needs a search engine which can browse other websites too. but then facebook can be a one-stop place for everything.
from meeting people to getting information and Images and videos which can be shared with your friends.

Google is a huge integral system of digital products with many products being leader in their respective categories like YouTube for video blogging, Gmail for email services, Android smartphone platform and the mighty GOOGLE search engine. When comparing the impact that both companies have had on the growth of internet, it can be easily seen that Facebook is undeniably something that we desperately WANT but Google is one big NEED that completes the internet.

For most people, an office means a tiny cubicle, harsh fluorescent lighting and a vending machine in a tiny break room. The lucky few who work at companies like Google and Facebook enjoy sprawling campuses with sweeping views, luxury amenities and gourmet food. I think they will still be the lead for a long time alternately.
