Here we look at evidence for any effectiveness of emu oil to reverse hair loss.

From all the information that we have come across and analysed, we have not found conclusive evidence of any positive effect of emu oil on hair loss, hair growth or potential hair regrowth.

Unless and until new evidence appears, we advise strong caution when buying emu oil for hair loss as products available online have been misrepresented and marketed using false information with no insight into potential risks associated.

Emu oil is an oil that is harvested from Australian indigenous birds, emus. It is composed of largely unsaturated fatty acids.

It has been promoted as a supplement for not just hair loss but many health conditions (including cancer, arthritis and skin conditions) without any significant proof from reputable sources as far as effects go, beside potential placebo.

Most emu oil products on the market are not approved by governing bodies and some even don’t contain the oil advertised. They may even be associated with health risks rather than benefits. This is one of those times where fraudulent information from scammers on the internet has the potential to cause problems with the intent of making profits for the manufacturers.

Based on our research and current information available, we feel that using it for hair loss is unfortunately just a waste of money. In our opinion there are better and safer alternatives available on the market today.
