Obviously, Sergio Aguero and Olivier Giroud are very different players with differing strengths and weaknesses. In this small piece, I will be going over the qualities that they both have, but ultimately telling you why Sergio Aguero is the better player.

Oliver Giroud, signed from Montpellier for £9.6million, is currently Arsenal’s top scorer and the spearhead of Arsenal’s attack. He has many great qualities, but among his best are his aerial prowess and ability to hold play up and bring team-mates into the game. His 6’4 frame allows him to physically get the better of opponents while using technical skills that can bamboozle even the best of defenses, while bringing team-mates into play to allow them to score, or unleash a lethal shot of his own. Despite all of these qualities, Sergio Aguero is simply on another level.

Sergio Aguero, signed from Atletico Madrid in 2011 for around £38million, is currently Man. City’s top scorer and one of the best players in Barclays Premier League history. He led Man. City to titles in both 2012 and 2014. He has a shedload of great qualities, namely his blistering pace, cunning runs and great attacking positioning. Despite only being 5’8, his workrate allows him to hold off strong defenders left, right and centre, while also unleashing the perfect pass or shot. He can weasel his way into small spaces and get the deftest of touches on the ball in order to score just one of his many goals this season.
