What is better, dyed or natural hair?

Lets look at some pros and cons and differences between dyed and natural hair colour.

Your hairstyle and hair colour, long or short, tells a lot about you and your fashion sense. It can make or break a look.

So when it comes to hair colour, it is important to make the right call.

Dyed Hair

dyed vs natural hairThis is one of the primary reasons why some people dye or colour their hair, namely to gain a new look, a new style to match their personality.

Another reason could be that you are not happy with the natural colour of your hair and hence opt for dyeing it in another shade.

Irrespective of what your reasons might be, both dyeing and colouring are characterised by their respective pros and cons which could come in handy when you take your decision.

Dyeing your hair sure provides you with a new look but the outcome is subject to the procedure having worked well for you.

Not only do you need to choose the new colour with care but also ensure that it is evenly spread all through your hair rather than remaining concentrated in just a few areas.

To this effect, most specialists advise that you must use your natural hair colour as a base and then choose the color that you wish to transform it to.

If carried out well, dyed hair give you a new look and feel and adds a luster to your hair which may have been missing before.

Natural hair colour

natural hair colourAttractive though it may sound, dyeing is dependent on several factors and if even one of them goes wrong, you are likely to sport a hideous hairstyle for quite some time to come.

In comparison, sporting your hair in its original colour is definitely the more cost effective and hassle-free way, not to mention the fact that you grow to love yourself for what you are.

And let’s face it, natural haircolour just suits some girls so well that it would be a crime to colour it.

Of course, you would need to maintain and style it well, maybe even accept some grey shades that are inevitable along the way.

But on the flip side you also have more time to relax, revel in your natural beauty and don’t need to deal with the hassles and cons of dyeing your hair.

It depends. I would choose natural hair if I were a natural blonde or redhead (or if my hair was curly, because dying your hair may sometimes ruin your natural curls). In case your hair is just dull and boring (like mine), you should definitely dye your hair. It gives your hair that glossy aspect that we all crave for, at least for a while. In addition to that, dying your hair gives you the possibility to choose whatever colour your want. I get bored with my own look very often and need constant change, so dying my hair is a great solution for me (even though there are side effects, like split ends – but you can take care of them with a good hair mask).

Personally, I don’t see this as a debate at all. I mean, go for it, dye your hair just once to see what it does for you. You can always let it grow out and revert to your natural colour, or you could use temporary dye. That said, if voting against dyed hair is tantamount to voting against the option of colouring your hair, wouldn’t that be terrible? You have your natural hair colour, nobody is going to take that colour away from you, so voting for or against it is redundant. On the other hand, you get to have so much fun with hair dyes- not just the usual black, brown, blond, but also blue, green, pink or just about any other colour. You get to choose if you want to dye your hair solid or in streaks, or even spray on shapes in different colours with a stencil that can later be washed off after the party’s over. If you’ve used permanent colour, you an let it grow out halfway and get a haircut if or you can experiment with very interesting hairstyles with halfway colours, like this: Image

Colouring your hair can make you look younger, older, different, funky, and just about any other look that would please you. It gives you another avenue to exercise an option, to express yourself, to symbolize a change of heart or a phase of upheaval in your life, to disguise yourself and escape your older self, to allow time to find your new look or new identity. It gives you an avenue to simply have fun. And all this without the permanence of a tattoo. What’s not to love about dyed hair?

Natural hair again needs less maintenance in comparison to dyed hair.
dyed hair needs a lot of care, conditioning and less heat or else you could end up damaging your hair.
Plus once your hair starts growing longer after some months your natural hair color will show up making your hair look two toned. Hence, you might have to spend your money again on redyeing your hair.

But again is dyeing of hair just for the sake of fashion or is it a necessity to hide grey and white hair. It depends and its a personal choice, I would still prefer to have natural hair. You dont have to bother much about the chemicals seeping into your scalp after dyeing.
