Auckland is North Island of New Zealand. With population of about 1.4 million, it’s largest and highest populated part of country. It lies between Haruaki Gulf to the east, small Hunua Ranges to the south east and Waitakere Ranges to west. Auckland is one of a little number of cities in the world that have two harbours on two separate major bodies of water.

We are comparing it versus Queenstown, resort town in on the New Zealand’s South Island. Queenstown is built around and shoreline named Queenstown Bay on Lake Wakatipu. It’s big attraction are spectacular views of nearby mountains such as Cecil Peak, Ben Lomond, Walter Peak, Queenstownd Hill and The Remarkables. It’s 29th biggest urban area in New Zealand with an urban population of 12,500.
